Sengakuji

Sengakuji is the resting place of the 47 Ronin and you can read more about it here.
As it was a short walk from our hotel I decided to head out and check it out, and a few friends had come along for what ended up being a waste of time. It was shut.

The temple which looks stunning was taken by putting my camera through the locked gate.

Another, more modern looking building.

The statue of Oishi Kuranosuke at one end of the grounds. Not able to get any further than the gate we decided to take a little random walk around the area.

Another westerner advertisement. A happy looking Tommy Lee Jones selling coffee. Show him the money!

A rather nice looking building totally out of place with those around it.

Well well well. I wonder what this could be?
